Ja'Sani Green calmly stepped to the free-throw line with 15 seconds remaining and delivered in the clutch, sinking two shots to tie the game.

But Trinity Valley Community College responded in the final seconds.

The Lady Cardinals scored on a shot under the basket with 1.3 seconds remaining to secure a dramatic 70-68 victory over Kilgore College in the Region 14 Conference championship game Saturday in Baytown.

Kilgore battled throughout the second half and erased a late deficit when Green converted both free throws to make it 68-all. Trinity Valley quickly pushed the ball up the floor on the ensuing possession, finishing at the rim for the decisive basket.

Madison Bob led the Lady Rangers with 22 points and added four assists and four rebounds. Anyla Herbert scored 17 points, while Green finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Kelsie Mangum contributed three points and three rebounds, and Brooklyn King added four points and five rebounds.

Kilgore shot 23 of 53 (43.4%) from the field and held a 33-31 rebounding edge. The Lady Rangers also forced several key stops late but were unable to secure the final defensive possession.

Trinity Valley was paced by Kendi Glover with 15 points and six rebounds. Kalyse Buffin added 14 points, and Taylor Day-Davis chipped in 12 points. Malaya Jones contributed 11 points and three steals for the Lady Cardinals, who shot 23 of 59 (39.0%) from the floor.

The loss ends the Lady Rangers' postseason run just short of a second-straight Region 14 title.
