The Kilgore College Lady Rangers are headed back to the Region 14 championship game.
Kilgore defeated Tyler Junior College 80–70 in the Region 14 semifinals Friday afternoon at Lee College, pulling away in the fourth quarter to advance to the title game for the second straight season.
The Lady Rangers (30-of-65 shooting) used a balanced scoring effort and strong rebounding to secure the win. Madison Bob led Kilgore with 15 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, while Ja'Sani Green added 17 points and Zariyah Edwards scored 16. Brooklyn King finished with 15 points and six rebounds, and Kira Johnson contributed 14 points.
Kilgore outrebounded Tyler 49–35 and forced 21 turnovers.
The Lady Rangers led 38–31 at halftime before Tyler closed the gap in the third quarter. Kilgore responded with a 21-point fourth period to seal the victory.
Monica Bottley paced Tyler with 28 points, while Kennedi Johnson added 24 for the Lady Apaches. Trinity Davis chipped in seven points and seven rebounds.
With the win, Kilgore advances to the Region 14 Women's Championship Game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lee College in Baytown.
The Lady Rangers reached the Region 14 championship game last season as well, defeating Tyler for the title.
