The No. 15 Kilgore College Rangers struggled early against Jacksonville College, but a late spark by point guard DaVeon Thomas ensured an 88-80 conference victory in Masters Gymnasium Jan. 4. Thomas scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half.
CJ Luster scored 18 points, Kingsley Ijeoma scored 13 points and Dorian Benford earned a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
On Jan. 7 in Brenham, KC rallied but couldn't overcome a stout Blinn offense, losing 90-73.
KC sits at 12-4 overall and 4-2 in Region XIV play.
LADY RANGERS:
On a rare Thursday afternoon game, the Temple College Lady Leopards rallied to defeat the Lady Rangers, 81-76.
