Softball team introduces nine signees for 2026-27 season at press conference
The student-athletes will join the Rangers for the 2026-27 season as part of head coach Amber Williams' fourth recruiting class at KC.
The Rangers will open their 2026 season Jan. 27 with a home doubleheader against Angelina College at the Ballpark at KC Commons.
2026-27 KC softball signees:
Lily Bergstrand — Walnut Grove High School (Prosper, TX) — Outfield/Slapper
Bergstrand is the daughter of Thomas Bergstrand and a graduate of Walnut Grove High School, where she has been a varsity letterwinner since her freshman year. She is a three-time 6-6A Academic All-District selection and plays travel ball for HotShots 18U National – Hooker. Bergstrand is active in theater costume construction, volunteers with The Cause Church and is an American Sign Language Level 4 student and tutor. She plans to major in kinesiology.
Jorianna Bernier — Angleton High School (Angleton, TX) — Infield/Utility
Bernier, the daughter of Jeremy and Brooke Bernier, earned Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year and Academic All-District honors during her high school career. She is also a cheerleader, track athlete, National Honor Society member and A-Honor Roll student. She plays travel ball for Impact Gold – Polk and plans to major in nursing.
Gabriela Brookshire — Langham Creek High School (Houston, TX) — Outfield/Slapper
Brookshire, the daughter of Michelle Rojo, has earned second-team all-district honors, a Houston VYPE Player of the Year nomination and three Academic All-District and Academic All-State selections. She is involved in student council, S.A.L.T., Health Occupations Students of America and completed health science clinicals. She plays for Katy Texas Blaze National Clark 18U and plans to major in applied science for surgical technology.
Sadie Elliott — Magnolia West High School (Magnolia, TX) — Outfield
Elliott, the daughter of Shane and Tana Elliott, has been named Offensive Player of the Year, team MVP and first-team all-district while earning Academic All-District honors twice. She plays travel ball for Magnolia Elite 18U and has spent two years working as a student teacher assisting children with autism. She plans to major in business.
Sky Gonzalez — Klein Oak High School (Klein, TX) — Outfield/Slapper
Gonzalez, the daughter of Alex and Mayra Gonzalez, plays travel ball for Illusions Gold – Brew and has earned team hustle awards, 15-6A honorable mention and district championship honors. She is also a member of the Klein Oak tennis program and plans to major in nursing.
Aaliyah Molina — Goose Creek Memorial High School (Baytown, TX) — Right-handed pitcher
Molina, the daughter of Aracelie Molina, is a four-year varsity starter who also spent two years as a cheerleader. She participates in Crime Stoppers and has completed extensive community service. She plays for Texas Strike Force Martin 18U and plans to major in criminology.
Gabriela Salas — Boyd High School (Boyd, TX) — Catcher/Utility
Salas, the daughter of Humberto and Leticia Salas, earned first-team all-county, first-team all-district and Academic All-State honors. She plays travel ball for Crush 18U – Tate and is a member of P.A.L.S. (Peer Assistance and Leadership). She plans to major in wildlife science.
Yanaia Scott — Homeschool Christian Youth Association (HCYA) — Catcher/Utility
Scott, the daughter of Yancy Scott, helped lead the HCYA Warriors to state and national championships. She maintains a 3.8 GPA, is a former volleyball player, volunteers for HCYA sports day and holds a black belt in Tae Kwan Do. She plays for Texas Strike Force Martin 18U and plans to major in criminal psychology.
Kambree Wilson — Forney High School (Forney, TX) — Right-handed pitcher/Outfielder
Wilson, the daughter of Trent and Veronica Wilson, earned second-team all-district honors in both District 14-5A and 10-6A and was part of the 2025 UIL Class 6A state runner-up team. She plays for 643 Fastpitch Softball and is active in her church. She plans to major in nursing.
