Rangers defeat Bossier Parish, Lady Rangers narrowly lose to Angelina

KILGORE, TX: The Rangers won their fourth-straight game Saturday against Bossier Parish, 72-58, as the Lady Rangers narrowly lost to first place Angelina, 83-81, after winning seven games in-a-row.

MEN'S GAME:

The men trailed early to the BPCC Cavaliers Feb. 10, but rallied to take the lead by halftime, 33-30.

KC outscored BPCC 39-28 in the second half to preserve the Rangers' (18-6, 8-5) fourth-straight victory.

Cahmai Crosby led the KC scoring attack with 18 points. Jamil Muttilib and Willie Williams were also in double-figures scoring 16 and 17 points, respectively.  Williams earned a double-double by grabbing 13 rebounds.

Other scorers were KC Udolisa  (9), Kaleb Pouncy (4), Ikechukwu Nwaobi (4), and Peter Mckey and Jamir Turner both with 2 points. KC will face Panola College in Carthage on Wednesday.

WOMEN'S GAME:

The Lady Rangers led Angelina College 33-32 at halftime.  Angelina came on strong in the second half, leading by as many as 11 points. KC rallied, but came up just short, losing to the first place Lady Roadrunners, 83-81, in Masters Gym.

KC had a three-point attempt at the buzzer that almost went in, but it bounced out. 

The Lady Rangers were led in scoring by BryKayla Hampton with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

Nakiyah Allen had 19 points (earning a double-double with 11 rebounds), Jazmyn Sostand scored 18 points and Perina Lieme scored 10 points.

Other scorers for KC were Tylissa Henderson with 6 points, Nyla Inmon with 4 points, and Mercy Wamet and Erin Love both with 2 points.

With the loss, the Lady Rangers (14-9, 7-2) remain in second place in Region 14 behind Angelina (16-7, 8-1).

They will travel on Wednesday to face Coastal Bend.
