No. 8 Rangers defeat Cisco on the road, 40-27
CISCO, TX -- The Kilgore College Rangers scored two touchdowns in the first three minutes of the game Sept. 30 versus Cisco College, but a gritty Cisco College team kept the game competitive.

KC scored on its opening drive thanks to a 66-yard touchdown pass from Cameron Peters to Dominique Williams.
On Cisco's ensuing drive, Wrangler QB Christian Kaopua's pass was intercepted by KC linebacker Julian Payne.
KC scored on the next play with a 25-yard toss from Peters to WR Michael Phoenix to put KC up early on, 14-0.
Cisco scored with just under five minutes left in the first quarter with a 15-yard TD run by Jadarrius Thomas.
On the next drive, the Rangers went for it on fourth-and-one, but was marked short.
Cisco capitalized on the next drive to tie the game up at 14 with another TD by Thomas on a 6-yard run.
KC regained the lead, 21-14, with a 9-yard touchdown pass from QB Tyler Webb to Aldyn Bradley, and scored again before the half with a 3-yard TD run by Peters to make the score 28-14 at intermission.
With 8 minutes left in the third quarter, Peters connected with Melvin Polk for a 5-yard TD pass to put the Rangers up, 34-14 (PAT no good).
The Wranglers scored late in the third quarter on a fourth-and-goal with a one-yard run by Keyshawn Williams.
KC responded with a 26-yard field goal by Chris Baldazo to put KC ahead of Cisco, 37-21, with 5:23 left in the game.
But on the next drive, Cisco's Kaopua connected connected on a 50-yard pass to Corey Sandolph down to the KC 20 yard line.
The Wranglers scored on the next play from Kaopua to Kye Stone with a 20-yard TD toss. This gave the Rangers a 37-27 lead with four minutes left after an unsuccessful two-point conversion.
KC drove down the field on its next possession, ending with a 36-yard field goal by Baldazo to make the score 40-27 with 2:43 left in the game.
The Wranglers kept the game interesting as Adonis Scott returned the KC kickoff 83 yards down to the KC 12 yard line.
But the KC defense held strong, not allowing another Wrangler touchdown.
With the 40-27 win over Cisco, KC improves to 4-1 overall (3-1 SWJCFC).
Cisco drops to 2-2 (1-2 in conference play).
KC will host Gordon Prep in a non-conference matchup on Oct. 7 in Kilgore with a 3 p.m. kickoff.
